“This figure represents Vinz, one of the central character in the film La Haine, played by Vincent Cassel. I chose this image because at the time, I was in the process of preparing an exhibition on cinema. That room had a lot of space to step back and get a bit of perspective, with a low ceiling and not a great deal of light, and I felt the character would be a good match for the location. This was a period when I was combining clear and blurry elements quite frequently. I thought it was great that you can make out the gun very clearly, but not the face. I did this painting pretty quickly – two hours in all. I’m still pleased with it – I think it’s right for the location.”

Flow TWE

Hailing from the town of Bayonne, graffiti artist and TWE Crew member Flow has done a great deal of painting inside the Magasins Généraux building in Pantin. He started painting in 2000, specialising in characters ranging from the realistic to a more cartoony style. His work can be seen in a number of French towns, including Paris, Pantin, Bobigny, Nice and Bayonne.
