Fourth Floor / Metal doorway and wall/ Glycero paints and aerosols/ 2006
“Of all the disused locations I have got into, this is one of the largest. The first building, the one you enter through, is impressive – then you find its “double”, with the gangways linking the two … One story related to the size of these locations does come back to me. I would often go there on my own – and one time, during one of my visits, I heard a noise – someone else was there ... Walking silently, I found myself behind two other guys who were busy painting. Not friends of mine especially, but also not anyone I’d particularly want to avoid … Anyway, I moved on and went off to paint a couple of floors higher – and they never knew I’d seen them.”

Gorey
Born in Paris in 1976, Gorey created his first tags in 1991. In 1993, while still finding his feet, he adopted his pseudonym, throwing himself into the full range of media: tags, chromes, throw-ups, graffiti, frescoes. Then, in 2000, he began to specialise in the creation of dynamic, original lettering that remained true to the precepts of 80s New York graffiti. He now lives in New York, where he is developing Woolf – a street wear brand distributed by Jackthreads.com. He is represented by the Klughaus gallery in New York, and also works in illustration and art direction.
