“I was familiar with this building because I’d done plenty of painting in the area. It’s really beautiful. I can easily picture it in a Batman comic. Eventually, Vision and I made our way inside, only to find that Lek and his acolytes had already done a great deal of painting in it. I did a lot of throw-ups on that occasion. I’ve always been a practitioner of this art of “vomiting your name” – it’s fun, it’s easy, and I often add eyes to them, depending on my mood that day. A brief anecdote: that day, in a room that was fairly dark, I nearly fell down a hole two storeys deep …”

Zeky
Born in Paris in 1975. After watching the very first tags and stencils appear in Montreuil (93100), where he grew up, Zeky started to practice on walls that were tucked away out of sight around 1987-1988, finally spilling over into the streets of his home town and the neighbouring municipalities. At the age of 16, his disaffection with school was a perfect match for the activity that was to become his major passion – graffiti. He started out with an interest in painting characters, then went on to specialise in lettering. A prolific painter, Zeky became well-known as a player on the Paris scene, and has even had a book of his work published (Edition Wasted Talent). He has also been painting on canvas since 2002.
